Abyssinnian Hornbill

| Ground Hornbills dwell in sub-Saharan Africa. The name is said to be a reference to a cattle horn, with its striated and mottled surface. These birds stand 3 feet tall and would rather run from danger than fly. The combination of size and color caught my eye and compelled me to paint this strangely beautiful bird. |
