Sun Bather

What a day for a daydream! I found this red bellied turtle sunning itself on a log near a canal in the Everglades. It almost seems to smile. I wonder what it would think if it knew that not 10 feet from this spot lurked a 12 foot alligator, also sunning itself on the bank. Since these two creatures have shared this ecosystem for millennia, maybe it knows something we do not . This is nature, and there are wonders undreamed of for us to explore.
